Hi! I have had issues with Power Mac's service before. So have my friends. So when I had a problem with my Macbook, a friend of mine recommended Senco Link. It's at the 4th flr, First Life building along Salcedo St. in Makati. It's not as accessible as Power Mac Center but they're more prompt with service. When I went there once for a different concern, they noticed that my laptop's case (the one for the keyboard) was broken, and informed me that it was apparently part of a recall for Macbooks I didn't even know about. They reported it to Apple and it was replaced after. I doubt PMC would have taken a similar initiative.

I brought my laptop there to have my monitor fixed. They gave me a quotation of around Php 21,000. Then, the engineer texted me and offered me a repair without labor fee for around Php 10,000. I replied saying that I will think about it. After a few days, I texted the engineer my go signal for the repair at Power Mac and I will just pay the Php 21,000 fee. I called the San Juan office around after a month and it turned out that they didn’t know that I gave them a go signal and that I found out at that moment that I was supposed to give a downpayment. They were so surprised about it and told them that they will report the issue and investigate the person who texted me. They said that engineers are not supposed to personally text the customers. The manager even called me to apologize and asked me if I am willing to join the investigation and find out the name of the suspect.

They think they wouldn’t even have given me any discount at all until I asked. They gave me a small discount despite the issues.

I just claimed my laptop today only to find out that its battery life was decreased to 30 minutes from around 4 hours. I don’t know if the engineer switched my battery or they damaged it during the repair.

I don’t even know if all the parts of my macbook are still original. I have no idea if they replaced the others or not. I am really disappointed with Power Mac. I still don't know how I am going to talk to them about the battery.

Do you have any suggestions where I can have my gadgets repaired next time?

Wow, sorry to hear it. Well they apologized and gave us a couple Altec Lansing speakers to compensate. I thought I posted an update about that.<br>Anyway, have you told them your problem(s)?

Wow this article is like a year and a half old and Power Mac's service is still at poor up to this day. I'm really having bad experiences with them.

Very sorry to hear your experiences. I suggest checking out http://www.philmug.ph forums and read up on the other Mac buying options available. PowerMac Center is not the only game in town. Beside their lousy overall service they are one of the most EXPENSIVE Apple resellers out there.

Just check out this thread to read a couple of typical examples of bad Powermac Center service:

If you ask around you can get prices wayyy closer to the US or Hong Kong standard Apple price (with better service too).

I think you would have had a better deal at Ynzal, their site is http://www.ynzal.com/.

Their people are very accomodating and deliver on their promises.

Ouch, what a horror story. My experience is a bit more positive.

I had my iPod shuffle replaced (it was still under warranty) in the Powermac center in Megamall. I was told that replacement would take at around 2 weeks, but I got an SMS in just 5 days that my replacement was ready. I did not have to pay a single cent and they gave me great customer service. Maybe you should try paying the Megamall branch a visit sometime :)

By the way, I sell brand new Mac laptops (as well as regular PC laptops). If ever you're interested you can reach me at 0919-432-1250 or email me dennison [at] codesignstudios.com have a great day!

hey marie. (hope that's your name) Same things been happening to me. well not exactly. We've been trying to get a hold of a 20 inch 2.4 ghz imac for 5 weeks now and we've been calling them everyday. Everytime we call, they just say, sorry sir, walang stock. For 5 weeks ha. And one of the reasons that we already decided to buy is that they're offering an 18,000 student discount on the 20 inch 2.4 ghz imac. But its only til october 28.

My issue is not exactly like yours, but to a point it is. I agree with you that apple is getting a bad reputation because of what's happening with powermac.

I mean they can't even provide the supply for the demand. I mean for my issue why should we suffer and not be able to avail of the 18k discount when they're the ones who cant provide the supply.

This has got to stop. You are in a much worse situation then I am. I'm glad that I bought my macbook pro from the US and not from them. Plus, their prices, in my opinion are so high. I got my MBP for only 106,000. Here, they're selling it for about 140,000 bucks (with student discount). regular prices, its still heck of expensive here.

Any ideas on how to contact management? Im going to megamall today to talk to their area manager. But i was thinking more of contacting apple itself and not powermac because i bet they will just be giving me excuses again today.

oh btw, maybe I now know why they don't want to accept pre-payment for units. Maybe its because of what happend to you.
